Curriculum

We offer a broad balanced curriculum with The National Curriculum objectives at the core of our planning. This ensures coverage of the children's statutory entitlement within each subject area at each stage of his/her education. Children in the reception classes follow the Foundation Curriculum and early Learning Goals.

Your child will be introduced to a range of subjects including Information and Communications Technology, History, PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education), Geography, Art, Music and Design Technology using a cross curricular topic approach. Physical Education and Religious Education are taught discretely but with the same emphasis placed on providing a creative and meaningful learning experience.

Learning together

As a school we believe that it is extremely important that your child develops skills in Literacy and Numeracy. We place great emphasis on the teaching of reading, writing, speaking and listening, ability to handle number and use of mathematics in everyday life. We have implemented the National Numeracy Strategy to teach mathematics and 'Read Write inc.' to teach our Literacy.
