School dinners

We believe all children should be entitled to a healthy, nourishing school dinner during the day. The fruit, vegetables and meats are all organic. Salad is offered as an accompaniment to the main meal. During the week we serve fresh fruit salad and organic yoghurts as dessert, however in response to a request by the school council we offer a more traditional school pudding on a Friday. This work was led by a working party consisting of the headteacher, parents and a school governor. They now continue to monitor the food and ensure a good quality lunch is served to the children. Each lunch costs £2.00 and the menus are on a four week rolling programme.

The children may bring packed lunches to school. We do ask that these do not contain sweets, nuts, 'Frube' yoghurts or any fizzy drinks or juices. With their packed lunch we encourage the children to drink water and we ask for children to bring a named cup in for this purpose.
